Preamble

This is a custom source-available license created for use by the Vault618 Software team. If any provision of this License is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Definitions

  1. "License" means the terms and conditions for use, modification, redistribution and other means of interaction with content defined by this document.
  2. "Licensor" is the Copyright Holder or any entity authorized by the copyright owner that grants the License.
  3. "You" refers to an individual or entity who uses content protected by the License, otherwise known as the Licensee, unrelated and not differently authorized by the Licensor.
  4. "Source" is the preferred form for making modifications, such as, but not limited to: Uncompiled Software Source Code; Software Source Code written in a JIT-Compiled (Just-In-Time Compiled) Programming Language; Documentation Source; Configuration Files; Image, Video, and Audio Project Files; Vector Images.
  5. "Object" is a final functional form created from a Source. This includes, but is not limited to: Compiled Software Binaries; Formatted Documentation; Mono-layer Raster Images; Mastered Audio and Video files.
  6. "Work" is the result of authoring in any form (Source or Object) that is made available under the License.
  7. "Derivative Works" or "Modified Works" are any Works that have been authored by modification of the original Works made available under the License.

Terms

You are hereby granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual, royalty-free license to install, execute, and modify Works within the bounds outlined in this License document. You are expressly prohibited from redistributing, publishing, and claiming ownership of unmodified Works. Any distributed Source modifications must be released in a form as limited as possible with regards to reasonable degree. All audio, visual and written Works remain the exclusive Intellectual Property of the Licensor and Copyright Holders. All distributed Derivative Works must retain all original copyright notices and credit both the Licensor and the Modifier in a clear, legible and visible way. Any modified Software Code derived from Source - including refactored logic, modification of variable identificators, or cosmetic mathematical restatements - remains legally classified as the original unmodified Work and cannot be re-licensed by anyone other than the Licensor or claimed as a Modified or Original Work.

  1. Any Sources (software code, project files), made intentionally publicly available by the Licensor, are free to be viewed, modified, and compiled.
  2. You are not allowed to redistribute Works in their entirety or parts without modification. You are not allowed to claim ownership of the original Works.
  3. Modification should result in a discernibly different end result. Altering e.g. a single value in Software Source Code or shifting the hue of an Image does not constitute sufficient Modification. Exceptions may be made in cases where Software is altered resulting in exact identical function at an inarguably more efficient execution rate (Optimizing).
  4. Works such as, but not limited to Images, Audio, Video, and Creative Text, may be used only in projects directly relating to the Intellectual Property they have originated from (Fan Works & Community Mods).
  5. Modified Works can be shared with accordance to two main statutes:
    • The Modified Work is not a straight copy of the original Work; is modified to be functionally different beyond reasonable doubt; could not be classified as an unmodified Derivative Work or Work with Substantial Similarity to the original Work.
    • Distributed Modified Works should be to a reasonable degree limited in scope to sections that have been modified (Uploading large unmodified sections is not allowed).
  6. The Licensor retains full ownership and copyright of the original base Work. While modifiers retain copyright of their distinct additions, all Modified Works remain bound by this License and cannot be re-licensed or distributed independently. Modifications of the Works cannot be used in a commercial manner, such as sold as part of an otherwise original work.
  7. Decompiling, disassembling, or otherwise modifying Objects such as Compiled Software Binaries is permitted solely for local inspection and development of Modified Works and Works relating to the Intellectual Property they originate from.
  8. The Source, Objects and any other Works come under No Warranty or Liability. There is no warranty for the Works, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Except when otherwise stated in writing, the Copyright holders and Licensors provide the content "AS-IS" without warranty.

Any clauses and terms of this License can be disputed, modified or overturned by the Licensor in the form of an Appendix, new License Version or a different more permittive exclusive License granted by the Licensor.

By installing, modifying, or otherwise using the Works, you agree to uphold the clauses outlined in the License.
